Our teachers are qualified and well experienced professionals, trained to guide your child’s education and development. The pre-school teachers in particular, have all been trained in the Montessori philosophy and practices. These professionals lead your child to an independent, self-confident, creative and inquisitive appreciation of the world. Other associates who give support to teachers in the achievement of their objectives are teacher attendants, cleaners, cooks, and gardeners. Each of them is experienced in their fields of endeavour.

Conferences

Another way to enhance the home-to-school connection is through the parent-teacher conference dubbed ‘Meet-the-Teacher’. On this day once a term, you have the opportunity to sit with your child and his/her teacher. You scrutinize your child’s class work books, home work/project work books and ask all the questions.
After the parent-pupil-teacher interaction, you may request to see the head teacher or Director to share or discuss information pertaining to your child.

Mentoring
Hillview Montessori has a mentoring program where key parents and some youth of Ghana, who have made it in their fields of endeavor are invited to have a talk with the pupils/students. The program is co-ordinated by the Parent-Teacher Association.

Vacation Classes
Every year, in August, Hillview Montessori organizes a Holiday classes for all pupils who are interested. The vacation is a mixture of academic, extra-curricular and fun trips. It has always been well patronized and interesting.
In addition, final year students (JH 3) enjoy free vacation classes during the second term vacation prior to their BECE.

Late Pick up

Children become upset when parents are late in picking them up. Additionally, when you are late the school faces the challenge of keeping teachers in school unduly after work. Therefore, we implore you to do all you can to pick up your child between the time of closing (3:00pm) for Pre-school and Primary, and (4.:00pm) for JHS, and one hour afterwards (4:00pm and 5:00pm) respectively.

Injuries and Accidents

Safety is our number one priority at Hillview Montessori School. We have safeguarded and keep ensuring that our building, playground and equipment meet all applicable safety guidelines and requirements.
Our staff is trained to be watchful and take precaution to prevent accidents and injuries. The children receive instruction on safe practices on regular basis and they are guided away from hazardous behavior.

However, as children begin testing their limitations, accidents and injuries are still possible and sometimes happen. Should your child have an accident or suffer a minor injury in school, we will administer basic first aid and you will be notified. If the situation requires medical attention you will be notified promptly while we rush the child to the school doctor. You can also arrange for us to send him/her to be seen by your doctor.

We are deeply concerned about your child and our pupils. As such, we always welcome your ideas and improvements that can be made to help avoid accidents.

Allergies

If your child has genuine allergy issues, please speak to your child’s teacher and the school Director or Head teacher so we can take the right precautions.
Medical certificates or a proof from qualified medical practitioner makes it easier for us all in dealing with such issues.
