Hillview Montessori School believes in the Greek adage that a sound body makes a sound mind. Consequently, physical education and other extra curricula activities are integral part of the school curriculum and it is compulsory for all students. From Monday to Friday of the school week, between 2.10pm and 3pm, the Hillview child is practically taken through an aspect of creative and performing arts.

Apart from the scheduled and structured academic program, the pre-school child gets the opportunity to visit the very spacious, cozy and friendly Montessori Resource Center as many times as the child wishes in a week. The child selects any Montessori learning tool of his/ her choice and manipulates it to the best of his senses.

Every Friday morning the children have games and once every term there is an organized competitive Fun Games.

Clubs and Societies
Here, students with the consent of their parents and school authorities are free to join any of the following clubs and societies in the school. They include:
The School Choir                                              Girl Guides and Brownies
The School Band                                               The Art and Craft Club
The Football Team                                            The Cadet
The Cultural Troupe                                         The Red Cross
The Readers/Spelling Club                              The Maths and Science Club
The Debating Team                                          The Wildlife Society
The Ballet Dancers

Under Art and Craft, children’s creative talents are unearthed as they are directed to weave, draw, paint, design etc. under professional instructions.

Excursions
Twice in the academic term, the Hillview child gets exposure and learns group behaviour, self-esteem and independence through regular educational and fun trips. These are wonderful additions to a child’s experience at Hillview Montessori School.

The school also embarks on a programme dubbed ‘Touch-A-Heart’ where students participate in outreach programmes for philanthropic purposes.

Games
Every Friday the whole school goes out for games, aside the scheduled Physical Education periods. The children under the supervision of their teachers get the opportunity to play all forms of games, indoor and outdoor. Some of the indoor are the snooker, table tennis and ludo. The outdoor ones include the swing, fun house, slides, bouncing castle, ‘ampe’, volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis and football. They also enjoy swimming on scheduled days.

Once every year, competitive fun games are organized among the four houses in the school. Sister-schools are sometimes invited in the hope of building friendship, good neighbourliness and a healthy competition among us.
